This week we have been discussing ourselves and our families. We have talked about how we are all different but yet we are all the same. Our differences are what make us special!
“The things that make me different are the things that make me.” – Winnie The Pooh
The girls were asked "What do you notice?" about themselves last week. Each girl observed her face, drew a black pen sketch then used watercolor to highlight her features.
My eyes and my hair are the same color!- Brianne
We have the same number (of girls) with blonde hair and brown hair! They are equal!
I am the tallest because I am the biggest. -Emilia
In our Math center this week, we did some measuring. They girls even got a chance to measure themselves and compare their heights. This gave us some practice using the terminology more, less and equal. We used these same words with our graphs too!
What a wonderful few weeks we have had getting to know the girls. They have been learning about our JK routines and procedures, as well as, learning about each other.
These last few weeks, we have been having conversations with the girls about their names and the importance of having one. We have focused on learning our friends names and being able to recognize them. Many of our centers were based on practicing our names using different types of materials and manipulatives.
