Maps of our hearts
After a conversation of where do we feel love, the girls noted that they feel love in their hearts. We decided to create maps of the things that "live" in their hearts. These things consisted of food, places, and people. The girls began sharing what they loved and what they thought lived in their hearts, First, the girls made lists of things that lived in their hearts. Next, they drew "giant" hearts and covered their heart in tape. Students water colored the inside of the heart and then once they dried the girls painted the outside of their hearts. Then, we connected our study of measuring by asking the girls to use rulers to create lines to separate the items inside of their hearts. The girls referred to their lists and recorded the items inside of their hearts. Finally, once this was complete the girls pulled off the tape to expose their completed maps.
"I have SO many happy things that live in my heart. My heart really has a lot of love in there."- Ivy
